6.03.12 Six Sentence Sunday: Return to Me

Welcome back!

I’m taking you back to the beginning this week, when Marek and Brynn first meet.  In this scene, someone hidden in shadows has pushed Brynn down a staircase.  Unbeknownst to her, Marek had followed Brynn.  He saves her, which ultimately lands them both in a very bad predicament.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

His heart raced beneath her ear.  A familiar woodsy scent clung to the thin tunic acting as a barrier between them.  Marek.  Her head moved with the rise and fall of his lungs as he sucked in as many breaths as his battered body would allow.  She was afraid every bone in her body was broken into a thousand pieces.  She stirred, attempting to roll from his body.

5.20.2012 Six Sentence Sunday: Return to Me

Welcome back, friends!  Thank you all so much for your continued support!  I received several messages last week on where to buy my book, and my answer is….  I’m workin’ on it!  😉

The scene:  In a dark cave, hiding from a vicious rain storm.  Brynn falls victim to Marek’s sinful ways.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Her body betrayed her and she collapsed against him.  In one swift movement, he locked his arms around her, rolling her body to the ground beside his.  His fists tangled in her hair, pulling her close to taste her.  She lay helpless in his arms, fully welcoming his exploration of her mouth.  She moaned, edging closer to the verge of losing herself in his embrace.

He teased her tongue, nipping at her lip while muttering fervently in his lyrical lilt, hungrily devouring her kisses.

5.13.12 Six Sentence Sunday: Return to Me

Thank so much for all the amazing feedback I’ve received on RETURN TO ME.  I’ve loved each and every comment.  We continue this week with our little battle scene.  Previous posts from this scene can be found here, here, and here – in that order.

Brynn has found herself in a little predicament, and Marek has come to her rescue.  (Sigh, I love him)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

“He is dead!” she cried, nearly in hysterics.  Brynn trembled in his arms, pulling Marek’s chest to hers.

Marek peeled her clinging frame from his, brushing hair from her face.  “Aye, I know, I know,” he breathed.  “I killed him.”  He scooped her in his arms.

5.06.12 Six Sentence Sunday: Return to Me

Welcome back, my fellow sixers and Sunday readers!  This week we continue with warrior Marek and Brynn, who is precariously perched in a tree while our hero braces for battle.  You can read the previous posts for this scene here and here.

The fierce howl of steel grinding against steel pierced through the thick fog.  Murderous cries—cries of unbearable pain and certain death—echoed through the trees like ghosts, carrying the sickening smell of blood and sweat.

Men were dying.

The screams and grunts edged their way closer to her as the battle dragged on, the familiar language of Engels among the shouts.  Perhaps they were coming to rescue her, but from the sound of the death screams, Brynn did not believe they would be at all successful.

Engel pleas of mercy met an abrupt end.

4.29.12 Six Sentence Sunday: Return to Me

We last left off with mercenaries closing in on our little group.  You can read the post here.  The men decide to hold their ground and fight…but what to do with Brynn?  Well…Marek sticks her in a tree.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

“Stay in the tree, Brynn.”

She nodded, panic slowly consuming her.

“No matter what you hear, climb high…and stay there.”  And then he kissed her, hard and fast, stealing one more bit of pleasure that damn well could be his last.

“I will,” she told him.

“I will come for you.”

4.22.12 Six Sentence Sunday: Return to Me

The scene:  Brynn, Marek, and his men are on the run.  They are being chased by a group of mercenaries who want nothing more than our character’s heads on pikes.  They are outnumbered and losing ground fast.

{Gavin}

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

“You know I never back down from a fight, but—”  His [Marek] words were cut short by a whinny in the distance.  “They are close.”

“Well, somebody better bloody well come up with a plan.”  Gavin smiled, slapping Marek on the back.  “I do not feel much like dying today.”

4.15.12 Six Sentence Sunday: Return to Me

In this scene, Marek finds himself with a new horse, one he isn’t very happy with.  He misses his faithful companion, who was stolen during a battle.  Well, in all reality, he’s downright pissed about it.  ;o)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

They met no confrontation along the way.  The only obstacle Marek encountered was the strong-willed filly.  He resorted to letting her fly like an out of control wind down slopes and through the shallows.  She was a fine traveling horse for she made her own path over rocky terrain and eager to please by being headstrong, but how would she fare in battle?  Marek hadn’t decided on her just yet, although he certainly was entertained by their outright mad dashes across the plains together.  His spirit ran wild alongside her.

3.4.12 Six Sentence Sunday: Return to Me

This week I felt like revisiting Marek and Brynn.  I needed some good romance.  🙂

The scene:  Marek is scowling from his horse at his younger brother, Ronan.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Ronan had always been quick to make friends, even with those who could potentially hinder him, as was this girl.  Ronan’s likeability was his downfall; he was entirely too trustful.  Put a pretty girl in front of him, and Ronan turned into a drunken puppy.  Marek could not push his men onward with their tongues wagging behind her every step.  She was too much of a temptation for them all—himself included—and he couldn’t allow it.  The girl would have to go.

2.5.12 Six Sentence Sunday: Return to Me

Welcome back, Sixers, and thank you so much for stopping by and for each and every amazing comment.  I love them so much and greatly appreciate the time you take each week to read and leave your thoughts.

Thank you!

….and now I leave you with Brynn and Marek – once again up to no good. (and sexy as hell) *wink*

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Brynn shushed him, placing her thumb to his lips.  He took the tip of it in his mouth, gently sucking it in response.  “Just love me,” she whispered, the longing and want in her voice thick like an evening fog.  “Even if only for tonight.”

“I will,” he reassured, taking her lower lip between his and licking it with tip of his tongue.  “I will love you more than any man has ever loved a woman.”

1.22.12 Six Sentence Sunday: Return to Me

This week we venture back in time.  I’ve missed my husband terribly this week.  What I wouldn’t give just to kiss him one more time.   SO….  lets get it on!!! (2 months, 3 weeks, and 4 days until I get to see him again for ten whole days!  I’m not counting down the days or anything…..)

Setting:  Marek has just won the sword competition.  He has come to claim his prize, a kiss from the maiden of his choice.

In one fluid burst of movement, Marek planted a boot on the fence, hoisting himself to meet her gaze.

The kiss that followed nearly knocked him to his backside.  Her fingers laced through his hair—rough and wanting.  She pulled his lips to hers.  She kissed him like she meant it…every heavy breath, every flick of her tongue against his.

His need for her grew to a feverish pitch.

Stay tuned next week – we’ll continue where we left off with this umm… kiss.  *wink*
